Updates from Oaxaca Team - March 29

03/29/06

Susan emailed us this afternoon (March 29)

Hi! Today we are going to the Triki people. There are no believers in this village. In our briefing today, they are described as a violent
people who love to drink and like powerful weapons. The Lord has established relationships with Martin and Karen, missionaries, and the
leadership of this village. They are unable to live among them because it is a closed culture. Kindly pray for these people and that the Lord
would use us to love them today as we serve them. Please pray for eyes to see what the Lord is doing and also our protection. We would also
like the Lord to reveal to us how we should pray. We need a game plan since we are unable to minister in the same fashion. Please pray that the Lord show us what to do.

Also many in our team are ill. Please pray particularly for Juan San Martin because he will not be able to join us today because he is so ill.

Glory to the Lord and may His name be praised in this Triki village one day.
We are blessed to know to know the Lord.

Blessings,

Susan

The following is a new email from Pastor Bill Dwyer dated March 29, 2006 in the morning...

We made the seven hour drive safely. The mountains are beautiful, but we had to drive through the Devil´s Backbone, a winding curving two lane road with a huge drop off on either side. As soon as we arrived and were greeted by Martin and Karen Arroyo, we headed up into the mountains for a clinic. No time to rest! We went up to about 8000 feet to Yucuyi, a small remote village on a dirt road. Eugenia and Mari set things up and the people were receptive to prayer. Things in Huxtlahuaca have been tough. Martin & Karen are still being threatened but this is a beautiful valley in the mountains and their home is lovely. We are staying at the Hotel Misteco which we call the Hotel Mistake-o. It´s $4 a night and is clean and comfortable. We are off to another clinic this morning. I am doing a ittle better. Dr. Avitia has me on antibiotics. Jim Pope and Juan San Martin are also sick. Everyone is pretty tired, but the Lord has been blessing us. Tonight, I do a men´s conference. We can´t do much ministry because of the tension in the community.

The following is an email sent from Susan G to Lynn P with news from the team March 27...

Hi,Lynn,
Well, we are back at the Mission after three days of clinics and quite a harried schedule. We ventured to San Andres Mixtec, Bramaderos, and Miahuatlan. The first two were in the mountains and Miahuatlan was at the base of the mountains.

Please praise Jesus for the following wonderful things:
-Jesus´graciousness as he arranged a flight when we missed ours to Oaxaca.
-Six individuals and two families came to the Lord in Bramaderos and Miahuatlan.
-For His healing grace as he touched so many spiritually, emotionally and physcially.
-For His healing hands through Dr. Hector Macedos (dentist) and Dr. Ramon Avitia (doctor)
-For protecting us as we drove through the mountains at night and in the rain.
-For the new church in San Andres Mixtec planted by Amelia with forty believers (11 familes)
-Praise God that He showed us we had a tire problem before we went to the clinic tomorrow.
-For the pastor and his family at Bramaderos who were gracious hosts.

Please pray for the following things:

-The healing of the all the people that came to the clinic. Most are burdened with the stress of life, gastritis, bodies that are in pain from athristis and strained muscles. Please pray for their despair.
- Pray for Daniella, an eight year old girl covered on her hands, feet, legs, arms and face with warts.
- Pray for Sophia and Hermedino who are mute.
- Pray for the children who had teeth pulled which was a difficult experience.
- Pray for the next three clinics as we travel to the mountains in the west over the next three days.
- Pray for a 10 hour travel day into the mountain
- Pray for Bill, Mary,Jim, and Roberto as they are feeling "queasy."
- Pray for Bob Sundberg and his continued health. He is a man on a mission that had a liver transplant a year and a half ago.Pray for him and his
family.
- Pray for increased revelation as we pray for the people. The Lord has shown us some amazing things as we pray for folks.
-Pray for the tenderness, kindness, and gentleness of Jesus to be apparent within our team as we serve people.
-Please pray that the mocking spirit in Bramaderos be eliminated.
-Please pray that he show us how to pray for this region and how we are supposed to be involved in the future.
-Pray that Jesus would continue to annoint David L. and Roberto to lead people to Christ.
- Please pray that the Lord supernaturally heal vision.

. I think that's it for now.

Love to you and all our intercessors.
Blessings,
Susan G

The following is the first email we rec'd from Bill and the team on March 26...

Hey guys,
The trip is awesome. We hit the ground running and have already done 5 medical clinics in 3 locations. I preached a Friay night and Sunday morning service in two different churches. The Holy Spirit showed up. The team has been great. Everybody is such a servant. We came back to Tlocalula to rest today, but we are doing another clinic for those at the mission.

Quiouitani was pretty wild. We were on the side of a mountain with about 40 believers. The area is hostile to Christians and many have been killed or had their property seized. The church planter is a young single gal, Emilia who is in her thirties. We left there for a town called Bramaduro where it was a much more friendy area. We had deaf, blind, some very sick children. The people were totally blessed. Then we went to a school near Miahuatlan and did our last clinic. We left for Tlocolula 3 hours, and drove though a huge thunderstorm. We have been laughing a lot. I had to sleep with David L in a double bed Saturday night with spiders crawling around. More than a few jokes came out of that.

FYI' Last night I got sick. I guess David L sent an e-mail home about it a while ago. I wanted you to know I have a slight fever and diarrhea, nothing serious. No stomach pains or cramps. I am exhausted, though. Dr. Avitia is taking care of me. I'm walking around and will spend the day reading and napping.

We leave early in the morning for Juxtlahuaca. 7 hour drive.

You may not hear from us until Friday.
Bill
