In the past I was philosophically opposed to having a designated "core" group because hand-picked groups seemed elitist to me. In many ways I viewed -and still view- the entire Children’s Ministry as my core
group because every single person, whether they can only give a few
hours each month, or several hours a week, has the same investment in
the kids and their spiritual? up-bringing.?

The reality is that I am only human. Even if I prayed about whom to pick for my core group, I know I would draw only from those who agreed with me or were work-a-holics.

Using Drama as a Teaching Strategy
This group is "open."
Instead of picking people for this group myself, I want to open it up. If you are interested, these are the general criteria:
1. You must have been active in the Children’s Ministry for at least 1 year.
2. You must be willing to meet once a month for prayer and planning. (This is very flexable)
3. You must be willing to NOT SERVE in more than one other ministry, and NOT be in any other core group (to avoid burnout and schedule conflicts).
4. You must commit to praying for the Children’s Ministry daily.
